TWISTED-ROOTS is a story set in the fictional city of Woodstock during 1940s America. The plot surrounds vigilante detective Cynthia Crimson as she investigates the death of civilians whilst dealing with issues of her own.
CHARACTERS
Cynthia is the lead detective of the C.D.A. Now with Jameson’s case in her hands, she’s determined to do whatever it takes to serve justice. Because she’s incredibly tall and thin, many citizens fear her, making it harder for Cynthia to assert her authority. Cynthia is extremely stern and attentive when talking to clients, however, when it comes to Fayline and Wick, she’s much more calm.
Her arrogance simply doesn't come from a heart of hatred, but rather from a heart of despair. She grew up continuously neglected and unloved by her family, whether it was through abuse or just by being locked in her room by her father. Cynthia has rough social skills and does not react well when people show emotion. She’s devoid of emotion herself and only shows persistence or constant perfection.

Wick is Cynthia’s husband and partner in the detective agency. Wick is extremely egotistical and sarcastic. He grew up running a funeral home with his parents which desensitized him to death, making his job somewhat easier for him. He met Cynthia whilst co-directing her father’s funeral, and both have been close since. He loves picking petty fights (where he always wins) in an attempt to prove his strength.
Wick has a multitude of interests in bird hunting, playing chess, reading, and playing card games. He is usually more relaxed than Cynthia and loves to annoy and mess with her in the office. Despite his charming arrogance, he can be sentimental and caring in appropriate situations.
Despite everything that goes on in Woodstock, Fayline Ramirez still somehow manages to cling to a thin thread of optimism and sanity. She is incredibly social and is recognized by friends wherever she goes. Hence the large ears of a cottontail rabbit, Fay knows much more than she should about the people of Woodstock. She met Cynthia in college and the two have been working together since. Despite wanting to be a professional baker, she wants to make sure the people around her are safe first.

Although Katherine has a fancy and posh lifestyle, she never lets fame and glory get to her head. Katherine has a quiet and soft-spoken voice. She met Cynthia one night at a club she was performing at. Cynthia was interrogating the owner about a robbery next door, and she caught Katherine’s attention.

Nobody truly knows where he was born or what his deal is but Chester has good intentions. As a butcher and "professional" fisherman, he usually resides by the black market of Woodstock, yet doesn't believe in their practices.
